Tips to ensure your gift gets delivered on time and in great condition:

  1. Choose a reliable vendor and fully understand their delivery policies.
  2. Fully understand their delivery policies and ask for clarifications. Different gifts may have different delivery information. Gifts2America’s delivery policies can be viewed here.
  3. Order your gifts at the very minimum a week in advance. This gives the vendor ample time to arrange for delivery and also inform you if the gift is not available for any reason
  4. Make sure to use the right address. Common mistakes include missing the apartment number, or using an incorrect zip code. The easiest way to check is to visit the US Postal Service website here and check if your address has a match
  5. Provide your and recipient’s phone number. While UPS, FedEx or USPS never use this, it is helpful if the delivery cannot be completed or when the local florist wants to call in advance to confirm the recipient’s availability
  6. When your gift is shipped, let the recipient know and provide the tracking information. This enables them to make alternate arrangements if no one will be available to receive the gift
  7. Choose the right shipping method. For perishable items such as cakes, it’s recommended that next day or at the very minimum 2 day delivery is chosen. This ensures that the items do not go bad in transit
  8. Consider weekends and US national holidays while scheduling delivery. Most delivery estimates are based on business days (Monday to Friday) excluding any holidays and weekend. A 3 business day delivery gift sent on Friday will not reach the recipient on Monday – it will only be delivered Wednesday or Thursday of the coming week
